Original job description

About zipBoard zipBoard is a bootstrapped, profitable software company. For over a decade we've helped construction teams, hardware documentation teams and learning designers review documents, drawings and courses in one place. Our customers range from general contractors to global semiconductor companies. We're a small, fully remote team, and we use AI in almost everything we do. The role You'll be the person who keeps zipBoard running behind the scenes and makes sure customers have a great experience. You'll work directly with the CEO. This is not a "wait for instructions" job. We're looking for someone who notices what needs doing, does it well, and tells us when something's off. What you'll own • Finance operations: run monthly payroll and quarterly GST in QuickBooks Online, keep the cash-flow sheet accurate, and process contractor invoices. You'll work with our CPA, who reviews the books. • Customer coordination: schedule and prep customer calls, keep account notes up to date in HubSpot, and over time run customer check-ins yourself. • People operations: coordinate hiring (screening, scheduling interviews), prepare contractor agreements, and onboard new team members. • Grants and funding: find government grants and programs we qualify for, and write the applications. • Product videos: record short walkthroughs of new features for customers and our help site. You'll do well here if you • Communicate clearly and early, in writing and on calls • Are comfortable with numbers and spreadsheets, and care about getting them right • Use AI tools daily, but bring your own judgment and context • Pick up new software quickly (HubSpot, QuickBooks, Teams, Confluence) Nice to have • A business, commerce or finance degree (recent grads welcome) • Experience with payroll, bookkeeping or customer success How to apply Send a short Loom (under 3 minutes) telling us about something you organized or fixed without being asked, and what happened.
