The Opportunity

Are you looking for a caring, collaborative, values-driven workplace with inspiring teammates and leaders? Do you have the ambition and desire to be the best and thrive at the most impactful global insurance provider in the world? Look no further than Zurich Canada.

Zurich Canada is currently looking for post-secondary student an Internship/Coop position to support the Zurich Resilience Solutions Operations team with data analysis, reporting, process documentation, system administration, and other operational initiatives.

The length of this internship is 6 months and is offered on either a part-time basis (minimum 22.5 hours per week) or a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week).

You will work under direct supervision and perform requested tasks alongside experienced professionals. This opportunity is part of our internship program and is also open to Co-op students.

This is a unique opportunity to build your knowledge and experience for the future in a supportive environment where your voice matters. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Zurich Canada uses artificial intelligence–enabled tools to support certain aspects of the recruitment process, including the initial review and screening of applications. Artificial intelligence is not the sole basis for candidate shortlisting or selection. All hiring decisions are reviewed and made by qualified hiring professionals.

Zurich follows a hybrid work model requiring three days per week of in-person presence, which may include time in the office or market-facing engagements.

What you will do

Support the Zurich Resilience Solutions Operations team with day-to-day operational activities and business initiatives.
Assist with data collection, validation, cleansing, analysis, and reporting using Excel, Power BI, and other business systems.
Help maintain accurate customer, policy, service request, and assignment information in Global Risk Engineering Workstation (GREW) and related systems.
Monitor shared inbox requests, gather missing information, coordinate follow-ups, and direct requests to the appropriate team members.
Assist with creating and updating service requests and assignments while following established naming, billing, and data-quality requirements.
Support recurring and ad hoc analyses, including revenue, lead-time, utilization, service delivery, and data-quality reporting.
Collaborate with Operations, Risk Engineering, Underwriting, Climate, and other internal stakeholders to complete requests and support business priorities.
Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Job Qualifications - What you bring to the table:

Currently enrolled in a university or college program and will be enrolled in the upcoming semester (ideally entering 3rd or 4th year), preferably in a Business Administration, Operations Management, Data Analytics, Risk Management, Insurance, or another related discipline.
Be legally eligible to work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including organizing, validating, analyzing, and presenting data.
Experience with, or an interest in learning, Power BI and other reporting or data-visualization tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to data accuracy and quality.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, organize priorities, and meet deadlines.
Comfortable working with business systems, operational data, and standardized processes.
Ability to document processes clearly and create user-friendly procedures or training materials.
Customer-focused and able to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across different functions.
Curious, adaptable, self-motivated, and willing to learn new systems and processes.
Professional, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Previous experience in operations, engineering, or data analytics is an asset but not required.

At Zurich Canada, we are committed to pay equity. We determine compensation based on objective criteria such as skills, experience, and internal equity. The salary range for this position is 45,000 - 60,000. This range reflects the expected pay for the role across Canada and may vary depending on factors like office location, specific responsibilities, and individual qualifications. As required by local law, Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable compensation range, but starting salaries may exceed this range based on a candidate’s skills and experience.

We understand how important it is to rest, recharge and do the things you love. At Zurich, all employees receive a minimum of four weeks of vacation per year to do just that.
We also understand that employees require time off for personal reasons. Maybe you have an appointment during a workday, a cultural or religious holiday you would like to observe, or you need time off to focus on your mental health. Zurich employees receive four personal days per year to be used at their discretion.
