The 401 Group of Companies is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Coordinator to support a strong culture of workplace safety, compliance, and employee well-being across our organization.
Location: Cambridge with travel required to various locations across Ontario.
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Salary: $50,000-$60,000 per year
Role & Responsibilities:
- Travel to various company dealerships and locations to support and maintain health and safety standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Joint Health & Safety Committees (JHSC) across all applicable locations.
- Coordinate JHSC and First Aid training and ensure required certifications are maintained.
- Maintain monthly facility, first aid, and fire extinguisher inspection logs for all locations.
- Act as a key point of contact regarding health and safety and WSIB-related matters.
- Respond to workplace emergencies and facilitate incident and accident investigations, including the completion and submission of required documentation.
- Ensure Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) boards are maintained and kept up to date at all locations.
- Prepare and maintain quarterly JHSC meeting minutes and documentation.
- Create, organize, and maintain health and safety documentation binders and records.
- Order first aid supplies and maintain appropriate inventory levels across all locations.
- Review and update health and safety policies and procedures annually, or as required by legislation or organizational needs.
- Maintain fire safety systems, documentation, and emergency plans.
- Coordinate and maintain equipment maintenance schedules and related documentation.
- Perform other health and safety-related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, such as a university degree, college diploma, or relevant certification is an asset
- JHSC certification is considered an asset.
- Valid Class G Driver’s Licence with an acceptable driving record.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Positive, solutions-oriented attitude.
- Willingness and ability to travel to various company locations.
- CPR/First Aid certification is considered an asset.
- Previous WSIB experience is considered an asset.
