POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Support and assist the Maintenance and Engineering departments to meet their desired objectives. Assess and maintain inventory levels required for production schedules and customer orders while minimizing carrying costs and create work orders to ensure the most efficient use of company resources.

Purchasing
Actively pursue lowest cost vendors.
Work with accounting system to create purchase orders.
Resolve any invoice issues.
Generate, process and file purchase requisitions.
Track monthly expenditures.
Set up vendors.
Inventory and Asset Management
Create and maintain CMMS with part numbers, current level of inventory of equipment, stock, etc.
Update and maintain assets in CMMS.
Update and maintain PMs in CMMS.
Maintain spare parts stock levels and inventory.
Respond to parts requests by maintenance and engineering personnel.
Planning / Analysis
Computerize asset information and data.
Create work orders and inspection sheets for Maintenance and Engineering.
Comply with all standards and requirements for SQF, food safety regulations and corporate requirements.
Support the work team’s development using CMMS.
Support team in conducting orientation of contractors (safe work permit, contractor indoctrination, etc)
Support team in acquiring quotes
Documentation
Data entry of work order status and completion.
Document/Track PM Activities.
Miscellaneous office work (typing, filing, etc.).
Human Resources
Comply with federal, provincial and local regulations.
Comply with corporate HR policy and procedures.
Comply with Union Contract policy and procedures.
Other
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A COMBINATION OF THE LISTED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
3-6 months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs.
Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
Good communication and organizational skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing duties, the employee is frequently required to walk; use hands or fingers to handle, feel objects, tools or controls; and talk/hear.
The employee is occasionally required by this job to use close or distant vision, color vision, peripheral visions, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
May occasionally work at heights and in outside conditions. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold and extreme heat.
