Role Description This full-time Proposal Engineer role at ABB E-mobility is a hybrid position based in Montreal, QC, with a combination of on-site and work-from-home arrangements. The Proposal Engineer prepares technical and commercial proposals for DC charging solutions, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, industry standards, and ABB E-mobility’s product portfolio. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing tender documents and specifications, collaborating with sales, engineering, and procurement teams to define solution scope and costing, and developing complete proposal documentation, including pricing, bill of materials, and technical descriptions. The role also involves coordinating internal approvals, supporting negotiations with customers, managing proposal timelines, and maintaining accurate records in relevant tools and systems.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Proposal Preparation and Proposal Writing skills, including the ability to interpret technical requirements and create clear, compelling proposals.
- Candidates should possess Electrical Engineering knowledge, with experience in power systems, DC charging infrastructure, or related fields.
- Candidates should possess Sales-related skills, such as understanding customer needs, collaborating with account managers, and supporting commercial discussions.
- Candidates should possess Procurement-related skills, including coordinating supplier quotations, understanding cost structures, and supporting bid pricing.
- Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline; experience in e-mobility, power electronics, or industrial automation is an asset.
- Additional beneficial skills include proficiency with MS Office and proposal tools, strong analytical and organizational abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication in English and French.
