Abilities Occupational Therapy is seeking a Occupational Therapist to join our Edmonton practice. This opportunity is ideal for an OT who enjoys assessment-focused work, applying strong clinical reasoning, and helping people navigate challenges that affect their daily activities and ability to work.
🩺 About the Role
Your work will include:
- Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs): Assess physical and functional abilities in relation to daily activities and work demands, providing clear findings to support recommendations and decision-making.
- Cognitive Abilities Evaluations (CAEs): Evaluate cognitive abilities relevant to everyday functioning and work-related tasks, and communicate findings through professional reports.
- Independent Medical Evaluation (IME) work: Complete FCEs and CAEs as part of the IME process, contributing objective occupational therapy assessment findings.
- WCB home visits: Assess clients in their home environments, identify functional challenges, and provide recommendations to support safety, independence, and daily participation.
- Clinical documentation and reporting: Prepare thorough, well-organized reports that clearly explain assessment results and recommendations.

👤 What You Bring
- Current registration with the applicable provincial occupational therapy regulatory authority. Registration in Alberta is required to practise in this role.
- Strong clinical reasoning and an objective, client-centred approach to assessment.
- Excellent written communication and report-writing skills.
- The ability to work independently, manage your caseload, and collaborate with clients and other professionals.
- An interest in functional capacity, cognitive assessment, and community-based occupational therapy.
- Experience with FCEs, CAEs, IMEs, or WCB-related services would be an asset.
