Role Description The Conveyancer – Real Estate will support the real estate practice by managing residential and commercial conveyancing files from intake to closing in a part-time, on-site role based in Mississauga, ON. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing closing documents, conducting title searches, drafting and revising agreements, and coordinating with lenders, real estate agents, and clients. The role involves organizing and updating file documentation, preparing trust ledgers and statements of adjustments, and ensuring compliance with firm policies and regulatory requirements. The Conveyancer will communicate clearly with clients to gather information, respond to inquiries, and provide status updates, while supporting lawyers with file management and administrative tasks related to real property transactions.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Real Estate Law particularly in residential and commercial transactions.
- Experience or familiarity with Real Estate Development processes, including documentation and due diligence.
- Demonstrated Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and clearly with clients and stakeholders.
- Background in Sales or client-facing roles, with a focus on relationship-building and follow-through.
- Proficiency with real estate conveyancing software such as Closer and Teraview and Cosmolex and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple files and deadlines.
- Prior experience in a real estate or law firm environment in Ontario is an asset; familiarity with local land registry systems is beneficial.
