About the role
We are seeking an experienced Apple Technician to join our Ajax location. This is a dual-function role: technical service and retail sales are closely integrated, and the successful candidate will be equally effective at the repair bench and at the service counter. The position operates in a fast-paced, high-volume environment that demands speed, accuracy and sound judgment. This is not an entry-level position.
Minimum qualifications
- 2 to 3 years of experience in a customer-facing retail environment
- 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience with electronics, computer, mobile device or technical equipment repair and diagnostics
- Working knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) systems
- Advanced proficiency with macOS and iOS
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Full availability for the schedule outlined below
Key responsibilities
- Support day-to-day store operations, including opening and closing procedures and front-of-house standards
- Diagnose and repair iPhone, iPad and Mac hardware in line with Apple service procedures, using genuine parts and approved tools
- Create, maintain and close service repair orders accurately, and keep clients informed at every stage
- Process sales, repair intake, payments and device returns through the POS system
- Identify client needs and recommend appropriate products, accessories and service options
- Manage the repair queue, parts inventory and device handling with precision and accountability
- Follow established standard operating procedures and contribute to their ongoing improvement

Preferred qualifications
- Apple certifications (ACiT, ACMT or Apple Certified iOS Technician)
- Previous experience with an Apple Authorized Service Provider, wireless carrier or electronics retailer
- Familiarity with GSX or comparable service management platforms
Schedule
- Monday to Thursday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Saturday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- Fridays and Sundays off
- Closed on statutory holidays
Compensation and terms
- Starting wage of $21.00 per hour
- Wage increase after probation upon full Apple certification in both iOS and Mac
- Annual performance-based wage review
- Paid monthly by cheque, which can be deposited through your bank's mobile app or in branch
- Two weeks of paid vacation after one year of continuous employment
- Complimentary parking and employee product discounts
- Health benefits are not offered at this time
- Three-month probationary period with a performance review
Training and development
Comprehensive training is provided, and our standard operating procedures will be shared upon hire. This role offers valuable experience within the Apple ecosystem and a strong foundation for a long-term career in Apple service and retail.
