Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced ETL Lead Developer with strong expertise in data warehousing, ETL development, and enterprise database technologies. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in the banking and financial services domain, with hands-on experience designing, developing, and supporting complex data warehouse and ETL solutions.
The candidate will lead a team of developers, translate business requirements into technical solutions, and take ownership of end-to-end data warehouse and ETL implementations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, enhancement, and support of enterprise data warehouse and ETL solutions.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize SSIS packages and ETL workflows for large-scale data integration.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
- Manage and support end-to-end data warehouse systems, including data extraction, transformation, loading, validation, and reconciliation.
- Provide technical leadership, code reviews, troubleshooting, and mentoring to ETL/data developers.
- Work closely with business analysts, architects, database teams, and application teams to deliver data solutions.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database processes.
- Work with multiple database and data warehouse platforms, including MS SQL Server, Sybase, IBM Netezza, and AWS Redshift.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, performance, security, and reliability across ETL pipelines.
- Participate in solution design, technical documentation, estimation, and production support activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve ETL performance, automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.
5 Mandatory / MUST-HAVE Skills & Experience
- ETL & Data Warehousing – 10+ years Strong hands-on experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise ETL and data warehouse solutions.
- Microsoft SSIS / SSRS Extensive development experience with MS SSIS, including complex ETL packages, data integration, transformations, scheduling, error handling, and troubleshooting; SSRS experience is an advantage.
- Database & SQL Expertise Strong hands-on experience with MS SQL Server and/or Sybase, including advanced SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning, data validation, and troubleshooting.
- Banking & Financial Services Domain – 10+ years Strong experience working in the banking/financial services industry, with an understanding of enterprise banking data, financial products, data flows, and regulatory/data-quality considerations.
- Technical Leadership & End-to-End Ownership Proven ability to lead and mentor ETL developers, manage technical deliverables, understand business requirements, and take ownership of complete data warehouse/ETL solutions from design through implementation and production support.

- AWS Cloud & Big Data Technologies Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Redshift, EMR, Spark, Glue, and cloud-based data processing.
- Lending Systems & Domain Knowledge Functional and technical understanding of lending systems, lending data flows, and related banking processes.
- Master Data Management (MDM) Experience with MDM solutions, particularly customer master data and customer demographics processes.
- Canadian Core Banking / Deposit Systems Knowledge of retail and commercial deposit systems, core banking processes, and Canadian banking domain practices.
- Advanced AWS ETL & Data Integration Strong solution design and hands-on experience implementing cloud ETL processes, including Kafka message processing, batch data ingestion, interfaces, and business-layer data processing.
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
