Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced IBM Maximo Functional Consultant with strong Utilities / Industrial industry experience to support the implementation, enhancement, migration, and optimization of IBM Maximo solutions.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Maximo functional consulting, business requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, process design, Maximo configuration, data migration, testing, and end-to-end work and asset management solutions.
The consultant should have experience working as part of large-scale Maximo implementation, transformation, or migration programs, preferably across utilities, mining, or other asset-intensive environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead functional activities for IBM Maximo implementation, migration, and transformation projects.
- Gather and analyze business requirements from business, operations, maintenance, and technical stakeholders.
- Conduct fit-gap analysis and translate business requirements into Maximo functional solutions.
- Configure Maximo applications, workflows, business processes, roles, security, and related functional components.
- Design and optimize Asset Management, Work Management, Preventive Maintenance, Inventory, Procurement, and Maintenance processes.
- Support data migration, data mapping, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and cutover planning.
- Develop functional specifications and support technical teams with integrations and customizations.
- Coordinate SIT, UAT, defect resolution, deployment, and post-production support.
- Support multi-site and enterprise-wide Maximo deployments.
- Work closely with OT, IT, engineering, maintenance, operations, and business teams.
- Contribute to Maximo modernization and integration with SCADA, IoT, industrial systems, and enterprise platforms where applicable.
- Support governance, compliance, operational continuity, and process standardization initiatives.
- Provide functional leadership across geographically distributed and multidisciplinary teams.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, Industrial Systems, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in asset-intensive industrial, utilities, mining, engineering, or operational technology environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM Maximo functional consulting and implementation.
- Experience delivering greenfield Maximo implementations, migrations, upgrades, or transformation programs.
- Strong knowledge of Maximo Asset Management and Work Management processes.
- Experience with requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, process mapping, functional design, configuration, testing, and UAT.
- Experience with Maximo data migration and cutover activities.
- Understanding of OT/IT environments and industrial technology ecosystems.
- Knowledge of SCADA, DCS, PLC, RTU, IoT sensors, and industrial protocols such as Modbus, OPC UA, and Profibus.
- Understanding of OT/IT integration, edge computing, IoT, predictive analytics, digital twins, and industrial data platforms.
- Knowledge of OT cybersecurity, IEC 62443, NIST, incident management, and operational continuity.
- Exposure to industrial cloud platforms such as Azure IoT, AWS IoT, or Google Cloud.
- Experience working within regulated, safety-critical, or asset-intensive environments.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, consulting, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent English; advanced Portuguese is required for Brazil–Canada collaboration.
