Role Description
The Roll Off Truck Driver Class 3Q role is a full-time position based in Calgary, AB. The driver is responsible for safely operating roll off trucks to pick up, transport, and drop off waste and recycling bins at customer locations. Daily tasks include performing pre- and post-trip inspections, safely loading and unloading containers, following assigned routes and schedules, and complying with all applicable transportation and safety regulations. The role also involves communicating professionally with dispatch and customers, maintaining accurate logs and paperwork, and reporting any equipment issues or hazards. The driver is expected to follow company policies, use personal protective equipment, and support a culture of safety and teamwork.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong truck driving skills, including experience operating roll off trucks or similar heavy vehicles.
- Candidates should possess a valid CDL Class 3 with Q endorsement commercial driver’s license.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of CVSE regulations and other applicable provincial and municipal transportation and safety rules.
- Candidates should possess safe loading and unloading skills, including securing loads and handling waste and recycling containers.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass required background checks and drug/alcohol screening.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and minor troubleshooting, and to report maintenance needs promptly.
- Physical ability to climb in and out of trucks, handle containers, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong reliability, time management, and communication skills, with a commitment to customer service and safety.
- Previous experience in waste management, construction, or related heavy vehicle operations is an asset.
