Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the Manager of Engineering, the QA Engineer designs, develops, and maintains automated testing solutions that verify the quality, reliability, and performance of Adacel product lines. This role helps bridge the gap between manual QA processes and modern automated testing by acting as a technical guide for the Manual Test Specialist team. The QA Engineer works closely with software engineering teams to support reliable, high-qualityreal-time air traffic simulation solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts and support test software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and build test suites.
- Participate in code reviews and adhere to software development best practices.
- Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing software tests.
- Document and maintain software functionality.
- Learn and adapt to company quality processes and standards.
- Engage in educational opportunities to update job knowledge and technical skills.

Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in software/computer engineering or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in software development, software testing, quality assurance, or related technical work.
- Understanding of software testing concepts, including test cases, test scripts, defect reporting, and regression testing.
- Exposure to automated testing tools, test frameworks, or scripting languages.
- Working knowledge of at least one programming language such as C/C++, React, Java, Python, or similar.
- Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts and software development fundamentals.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, analyze problems, and learn new tools and technologies.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Desired
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, SVN, or similar.
- Exposure to real-time, simulation, embedded, or safety-critical systems.
- Interest in Air Traffic Management, Air Traffic Control, aviation, simulation, or mission-critical software systems
Other Qualifications:
- Ability to adhere to Adacel’s Drug Free Workplace Policy.
- Ability to pass an Adacel background check while employed.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional lifting – up to 50 lbs.
- Repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movement.

- Location: Montreal, Quebec
- Job Status: Full Time Permanent
- Hybrid teleworking environment
- Alternative work schedules (9/80 with every other Friday off)
- Typically sitting at a desk
