Bilingual Occupational Health Nurse – Student Clinical Compliance
Location: Ottawa, ON – Full-Time Onsite
Contract: October 12 to December 22, 2026
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Hours: 35 hours per week
Pay Rate: $41.82 per hour
Aeolus Staffing Solutions is recruiting a Bilingual Occupational Health Nurse on behalf of a leading public-sector post-secondary institution in Ottawa.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse who would like to apply their clinical knowledge in a professional educational environment. Unlike a traditional bedside nursing role, this position focuses on reviewing student health records, evaluating immunization documentation and ensuring students meet the health and safety requirements necessary to participate in clinical placements.
The successful candidate will work closely with students, academic programs and external healthcare partners to support safe and compliant clinical placements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess student immunization and occupational-health records.
- Confirm that students meet all health and safety requirements before beginning clinical placements.
- Identify missing, incomplete or expired documentation and advise students on the steps required to achieve compliance.
- Provide professional health counselling and guidance regarding immunization and placement requirements.
- Collect, analyze and maintain confidential student health records with accuracy and discretion.
- Apply established policies, procedures, privacy legislation and human-rights requirements.
- Maintain clinical placement risk-management documentation standards.
- Communicate with students, faculty members, colleagues and external healthcare partners.
- Assist with complex cases involving compliance concerns, competing deadlines or sensitive medical information.
- Maintain accurate information using databases, spreadsheets, email and other administrative systems.
- Prioritize a high volume of files while meeting important clinical-placement deadlines.
Essential Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Sciences, current RN registration and at least three years of relevant experience; or
- College diploma in Nursing Sciences, current RPN registration and at least five years of relevant experience.
Candidates must also possess:
- A valid Certificate of Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Professional experience evaluating immunization records and occupational-health requirements.
- Full professional proficiency in both English and French, spoken and written.
- Strong attention to detail and experience reviewing confidential health documentation.
- Excellent planning, organization and time-management abilities.
- Strong client-service, teamwork and relationship-building skills.
- Confidence handling sensitive conversations and providing clear guidance to students.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, databases and electronic record-management systems.
Additional Assets
- Experience in occupational health, public health, employee health or infection prevention.
- Previous experience within a university, college, hospital or other public-sector organization.
- Knowledge of epidemiology-related legislation and professional standards.
- Understanding of Ontario and federal privacy legislation.
- Knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and its application to confidential medical information.
- Experience with clinical placements, student health compliance or healthcare credentialing.
- Experience in health counselling, problem-solving, negotiation or crisis management.

Important Information
