The Opportunity
We're looking for a Billing Supervisor to lead our billing team and keep our billing and cardlock processes running accurately and on schedule, including at month end. You'll supervise a team of billers, be the go-to person when billing issues come up, and work closely with our Corporate Controller to keep things running smoothly and to bring forward ideas for improvement.
What You'll Do
- Supervise and develop a team of billers: assign daily work, monitor performance, and provide training and cross-training so coverage never depends on any one person.
- Oversee the accuracy and timely completion of billing and cardlock processes, including at month end.
- Manage the billing in-box, triaging and assigning incoming tasks to the team.
- Monitor turnaround time and billing accuracy against established KPIs and report results to the Corporate Controller.
- Lead daily billing meetings to review outstanding items, address delays, and prioritize team workload.
- Coordinate with dispatch, contracts, supply, other branches, and suppliers to resolve day-to-day billing issues.
- Work daily within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to complete and support billing tasks.
- Bring recommendations for recurring issues or process gaps to the Corporate Controller for review.
- Prepare and review invoices, including consolidated and contract-specific invoicing, for accuracy.
- Pitch in directly with billing and invoicing during busy periods or month-end deadlines.
What You Bring
- 3+ years' experience in a billing role, including experience leading, coordinating, or reviewing the work of others; prior supervisory experience is an asset.
- High school diploma required; a post-secondary diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or a comparable ERP is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to coordinate across departments.
- Strong attention to detail and a track record of keeping a team organized under deadline pressure.
