Through collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to responsible growth, BMO supports customers and businesses while contributing to economic growth. Team members are valued, respected, and encouraged to develop their skills, take on new opportunities, and make a meaningful impact.
About The Role
BMO is seeking a senior technology professional to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade applications. In this hands-on leadership role, you will guide teams building full-stack solutions with .NET/C#, Angular, REST APIs, and AWS cloud services. You will help set technical direction, strengthen engineering practices, and deliver secure, scalable, high-performing applications aligned with business goals.
You will contribute across the software development lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through implementation, deployment, and ongoing production support. The role also champions AI-assisted development practices, application modernization, cloud-native architecture, and DevOps adoption. The expected salary range is $70,000 to $150,000 annually. Compensation varies based on location, skills, experience, education, and other role-related factors. The position is salaried.
Qualifications
Applicants should have at least eight years of software development experience with .NET/C#, ASP.NET Core, and Angular, including three or more years leading development teams or serving as a technical lead. Strong practical experience with AWS services and containerized or serverless architectures is required, as is experience with Kubernetes, ECS, Docker, or comparable technologies.
You should bring a record of designing microservices and microfrontends, developing RESTful APIs, and implementing event-driven integrations. Additional qualifications include knowledge of relational databases, data modeling, SQL optimization, CI/CD, automated testing, version control, and Agile/Scrum delivery. Experience using AI-powered development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, is expected. You should understand application security, authentication, authorization, OWASP practices, observability, and production support, and demonstrate strong communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
Experience in banking or financial services, cloud migration, and enterprise modernization is an asset. Familiarity with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Kafka, SNS/SQS, EventBridge, domain-driven design, clean architecture, or distributed systems is beneficial. AWS certifications and a history of leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives are also valued.
Responsibilities
Lead solution design and full-stack application delivery, translating business requirements into maintainable technical solutions. Build and modernize cloud-native applications using AWS services, microservices, containers, serverless components, secure APIs, and integration patterns. Guide migration of legacy platforms and contribute to architecture decisions and technology roadmaps.
Establish engineering standards for coding, design, security, performance, resilience, and operational readiness. Apply AI-enabled development tools and practices to improve code generation, testing, reviews, and team productivity. Design CI/CD pipelines and promote automation throughout delivery. Mentor developers through code and design reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing. Partner with product owners, business stakeholders, architecture, infrastructure, security, and cloud engineering teams. Support planning and estimation across concurrent initiatives, investigate complex production issues, and evaluate emerging technologies through practical proof-of-concepts.
Benefits
BMO’s total compensation may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, and other rewards, depending on the position’s pay structure. Benefits may include health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans. BMO also supports employee growth through training, coaching, manager support, and opportunities to build professional networks and broaden skills.
