About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Software Developer to join our talented team at our Edmonton location. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications that meet our clients' needs. This role involves working closely with project managers, designers, and clients to deliver high-quality software solutions within specified deadlines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in programming, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to evolving project requirements. You will play a crucial role in the full software development lifecycle, from initial planning and coding to deployment and ongoing support.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a college or CEGEP level education in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 2 to less than 3 years of professional experience in software development is required. Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, and familiarity with JSON, robotic process automation, and web application development are essential. Strong communication skills in English are necessary to effectively collaborate with team members and clients. Candidates should demonstrate attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Experience with programming animation software, special effects software, and Internet applications will be considered an asset.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this role include writing, modifying, integrating, and testing software code to ensure functionality and performance. The developer will maintain existing computer programs by implementing necessary modifications and improvements. Effective communication of technical problems, processes, and solutions is vital for team collaboration. Preparing comprehensive reports, manuals, and documentation related to software operations and maintenance is expected. The role also involves assisting in gathering and documenting user requirements, developing logical and physical specifications, and evaluating various software products to recommend optimal solutions. Programming tasks include developing animation software for interactive media, special effects software for film and video, and e-commerce or Internet-based applications. Managing incidents and providing ongoing post-sale client support are also integral parts of the position.
