Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer with strong experience in automation testing of mobile and web applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Appium, mobile application testing across Android and/or iOS, and a solid understanding of QA processes, test automation, and defect management.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, performance, and user experience of our mobile applications through comprehensive manual and automated testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for mobile applications.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing.
- Develop and maintain mobile automation test scripts using Appium.
- Test mobile applications across different Android and iOS devices and OS versions.
- Identify, document, track, and verify defects using tools such as Jira or similar defect management systems.
- Analyze requirements and create comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, and test plans.
- Execute automated regression suites and analyze test results.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers to identify and resolve issues.
- Participate in requirement reviews and provide inputs from a quality and testability perspective.
- Perform API testing where required and validate backend responses supporting mobile applications.
- Contribute to improving test automation frameworks, QA processes, and overall test coverage.
- Troubleshoot automation failures and identify whether failures are due to application defects, test scripts, or test environments.
- Ensure testing is completed within project timelines while maintaining high-quality standards.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Software QA/Testing, with strong experience in mobile application testing.
- Hands-on experience in both Manual Testing and Automation Testing.
- Strong practical experience with Appium for mobile automation.
- Experience testing Android and/or iOS applications.
- Good knowledge of functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing.
- Experience with automation programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar.
- Good understanding of Selenium/WebDriver concepts.
- Experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira.
- Good understanding of API testing and tools such as Postman is preferred.
- Familiarity with Git and CI/CD tools is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, defect lifecycle, and QA methodologies.
- Ability to independently analyze requirements and identify comprehensive test scenarios.
Good to Have
- Experience with Android Studio / Xcode.
- Experience working with REST APIs.
- Knowledge of SQL/database validation.
- Experience integrating Appium automation with Jenkins or other CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum development environments.
