Summary Job description : Air Liquide Canada is offering a unique opportunity for a certified heavy equipment mechanic looking to build a career in a diverse field and work on engines, pumps, hydraulic systems, and cryogenic trailers.
The primary objective of this position is to maintain the various trailers used by the distribution center located in Varennes. Trailer maintenance will be performed safely and efficiently, while promoting ALC’s quality and safety objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance on trailers and cryogenic equipment: Perform daily and preventive maintenance on the cryogenic equipment and trailers operated by the distribution center, in accordance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations, to maximize their operational efficiency. Minimize maintenance costs and ensure the quality of maintenance work.
- Maintain the parts inventory: Ensure that the parts inventory is properly maintained. Document parts movements in the appropriate software.
- Ensure maintenance and safety: Ensure that the garage remains clean and safe. Ensure that parts storage areas are organized at all times. Maintain tools and equipment. Identify all hazardous materials in accordance with the regulations of the various applicable programs. Work safely at all times. Identify and help correct all sources of danger and accident risks.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend any improvements likely to minimize costs and/or enhance the quality of maintenance activities. Work closely with distribution center team members to resolve problems or find new ways to improve the efficiency of the center’s operations.
- Safety / Quality: Improve occupational health and safety. Help promote ALC’s safety objectives. Be familiar with and comply with all established procedures. Implement appropriate corrective and preventive measures in response to customer complaints.

Required Education:
- Heavy Equipment Technician Certificate (HET)
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license required
- PEP card is a plus
Duration and Type of Experience Required:
- Experience with small Yanmar and Kubota diesel engines and Honda gasoline engines, as well as knowledge of cryogenics and/or pressure vessels, are a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Good knowledge of industry-recognized maintenance standards, cryogenics, and hazardous materials
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential
