Program Manager, Telecom Infrastructure Build
This is a 12 Months Contract Extendable with Full-Time Hours for a Canadian-Based Telecom Client.
The Program Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of large-scale telecom infrastructure build programs, primarily involving fibre/FTTH and outside plant network deployment.
The role provides overall leadership and accountability for multiple concurrent build projects, ensuring construction programs are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to established quality standards. The Program Manager coordinates internal teams, construction partners, vendors and other key stakeholders to maintain program momentum, resolve issues and achieve deployment targets.
Ideal Background
- The successful candidate will have significant experience delivering large, complex telecom infrastructure or outside plant construction programs, ideally involving fibre or FTTH deployment.
- Experience delivering rural broadband or geographically dispersed network builds and working within large, multi-contractor deployment programs would be particularly relevant.
- Strong financial management, contractor management, risk management, stakeholder communication and executive reporting skills are important for success in the role.
- PMP or equivalent project/program management certification is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale, multi-project fibre, FTTH and telecom infrastructure build programs.
- Own overall program delivery, including schedules, budgets, milestones, forecasts, risks and dependencies.
- Manage multiple construction contractors and vendors, ensuring accountability for schedule, cost, quality and delivery commitments.
- Track construction progress and overall build performance against established program targets.
- Identify and resolve issues affecting construction, schedule, cost or overall program delivery.
- Manage program financials, including budgets, purchase orders, change orders, forecasts and cost variances.
- Coordinate across construction, engineering, operations, finance, procurement and other internal teams to keep programs moving.
- Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on program status, financial performance, risks, issues and forecasted completion.
- Drive projects through construction completion, network readiness and operational handover.
