Your Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE), who leads the planning, co-ordination, implementation, and evaluation of education activities for staff working within the Enhanced Care Unit (TCU) and Transition Care Unit (TCU). The role will support clinical competencies, organizational standards/practices/guidelines in collaboration with the leadership team. The CNE will have opportunity to work within a dynamic environment to support 2 units. ECU is designed to meet the needs of individuals who present with a combination of dementia syndrome and complex behavioral issues with moderate to severe responsive behaviours. TCU is designed for clients waiting transitions either returning home or waiting for the appropriate living options. Reporting to the Care Manager, the CNE functions as a change agent and resource to nursing staff for professional development and clinical competence. The CNE collaborates with the health care team at the unit, department, site, zone, and provincial level as necessary. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis paid at the basic rate of pay.

As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:
Seniors Health experience with residents experiencing moderate to severe responsive behaviours.
