Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre has an exciting opportunity for a License Practical Nurse - Operating Room Technician with perioperative training and experience to join our surgical team. Ponoka Hospital currently provides endoscopy and obstetrical services and is expanding its surgical program to include cataract surgery, creating an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills in a dynamic perioperative environment. Previous operating room experience is considered an asset and will support a smooth transition into the role. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Operating Room Technician designation from CLHA.
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years surgical experience. endoscopy experience.
