Your Opportunity:
The PLC Post Anesthetic Care Unit, Women's Health Clinic unit manager is a key leadership role in surgical services and reports directly to the Manager of the Operating Room. This position is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, leadership and organization over the activities of patient care services in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. These activities also will include the integration of various resources to carry out these activities. The position is also responsible and accountable for making key decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for establishing and contributing to the achievement of the goals of surgical services. The PLC Post Anesthetic Care Unit, Women's Health Clinic unit manager is directly responsible for the daily operations and strategic development of clinical service and research within these specific areas. This role is responsible for integration of best practice research and safety/quality improvement service models and process pathways in collaboration with clinical and medical leads.
Description:
The PLC Post Anesthetic Care Unit, Women's Health Clinic unit manager is a primary contact for the Post Anesthetic Care Unit, Women's Health Clinic daily operations. The Post Anesthetic Care Unit, Women's Health Clinic unit manager provides consistent financial and operational reporting for the Post Anesthetic Care Unit and Women's Health Clinic to the manager of the operating room regarding surgical service targets. Leads with clinicians (nursing, physician) and management to develop strategies to reduce variation, achieve standardization and reduce overall costs. Develop overall framework to set targets and measure performance. Collaborate with strategic partners to measure patient outcomes and ensure quality is maintained or improved with set strategies and targets. Collaborates with key partners within PLC to facilitate optimized patient care. Implement activity-based costing and funding, engaging stakeholders. Develops capacity in surgery to acquire increased ability to be innovative in advancing budget targets, resource allocation, improve operating costs and achieve efficiencies. The Post Anesthetic Care Unit, Women's Health Clinic unit manager informs the Operating Room manager regarding the operating budgets for the Post Anesthetic Care Unit and Women's Health Clinic consistent with the plans and general guidelines established by Alberta Health Services’ senior management. Authorizes and controls expenditures and is accountable for managing resources within the patient care service. Monitors and reports financial variance. Collaborates to achieve financial and utilization targets.

Required Qualifications:
