Your Opportunity:
Assists the technologist with examination preparation, ensuring safe and appropriate care of the patient is maintained by: Preparing CT suite for each examination i.e. disinfects CT equipment, change linen. Assisting technologist and other healthcare staff with transfer of patients to and from examination table. Physically supports and assists the movement of patients as instructed. Ensuring the CT rooms are fully stocked with instruments and equipment for all CT procedures. Ensuring the availability of inventory and equipment is readily available for CT exams. Assisting with the operations of the gantry/table controls to position patient for examination. Assisting with observations, care and safety of patient while technologist performs other imaging duties. Preparing oral preparation for abdominal CT examinations under the supervision of the CT. technologist/Diagnostic Imaging RN. Assisting outpatient with preparation for examination by setting up CT video for patient viewing. Assisting with loading the CT pressure injector under the supervision of the CT technologist. Assisting with setting up sterile trays for CT procedures. Assists with transporting, set up and return of equipment for interventional studies performed in satellite areas. Assisting with CT patient information sheet which is given to CT patients. Assisting technologists with entry of CT examinations into the patient information system. Assisting with retrieving/burning CT examinations onto CD. Reporting transport problems to appropriate personnel. Transporting equipment, specimens and supplies to and from the CT area when required.
Description:
As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Physical exertion. Frequent heavy manual work, equipment operation, lifting, prolonged sitting, standing for entire shift, etc. Physical effort required for walking, standing, reaching, pulling, climbing, stopping, bending and lifting patients and equipment (30– 50 pounds). Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting is preferred. Good computer skills required Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and a good command of the English language. Ability to work both independently and as a team member. Meticulous attention to detail required. Must be mature, conscientious, use good judgment, initiative, cooperative and maintain a positive attitude. Must have good computer skill CPR certificate, WHMIS
