Your Opportunity:
The attendant is an integral member of the health care team, supporting Adults and Stollery in a family centered care within a busy tertiary Emergency.
Description:
As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS - Heart and Stroke AED Level C REQUIRED) - Healthcare Provider Registration (must attach certificate). One year experience as a porter/attendant required. English language comprehension, both oral and written is required. Ability to meet the physical demands associated with the job i.e. pushing stretchers, carts, wheelchairs, and bending, reaching, is required. Completion of Medical Terminology required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to work in a team environment is essential. Self-motivated individual able to prioritize and organize workload, in a busy patient care environment.

Responsibilities
Transport patients, equipment, specimens, blood products, and charts between hospital areas, and distribute and replenish supplies throughout the units. Clean equipment and patient care areas as directed, report supply or safety concerns, and perform other duties as required.
Requirements
Requires Grade 12 or equivalent, current Basic Life Support certification at Healthcare Provider level with AED Level C, one year of porter or attendant experience, and completion of Medical Terminology. Candidates must have English comprehension, meet the physical demands of the role, and be able to work effectively in a team while organizing and prioritizing tasks.
