Purpose
Support the integrity and effective operation of Allied’s business systems and the data that powers them.
At Allied, Specialist, Business Systems supports the day-to-day administration of master data within our enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and related business applications. You will maintain system data and configuration, process system data updates, contribute to testing and reporting, and help resolve functional issues.
Reporting to the Associate Manager, Data Integrity and Lease Administration, you will work closely with Finance, Lease Administration, Portfolio Operation, Technology and other teams across Allied to help ensure our business systems and data support established business processes, controls and reporting requirements.
This role is an opportunity for someone who combines strong attention to detail with an interest in business systems, data and problem-solving. You are comfortable learning complex applications, working across teams and managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
ResponsibilitiesData Integrity and Governance
- Maintain the accuracy, completeness, consistency and protection of data within Allied’s business systems.
- Create and maintain system configuration and master data, including but not limited to, properties, suites, entities, customers, vendors, chart of accounts, account trees and property area tables.
- Work with Lease Administration to ensure tenant and lease information is accurately reflected in the ERP system.
- Validate data, identify inconsistencies and work with business teams to support corrective action.
- Contribute to data governance practices, documentation and quality controls.
Business Support and Continuous Improvement
- Support the day-to-day administration of the data within Allied’s ERP system and related business applications.
- Help investigate functional system issues and work with Technology, software vendors and business users to support resolution.
- Support Finance, Lease Administration, Portfolio Operations and other teams with system and data-related questions and issues.
- Support month-end and year-end activities by helping resolve ERP-related issues.
- Gather and document business requirements related to systems, data, reporting and processes.
- Act as a liaison between business teams and Technology to help ensure requirements are clearly understood.
- Contribute to the continuous improvements in system processes, data quality and controls.
- Maintain standard operating procedures and system documentation.
- Contribute to system implementations, upgrades and other projects involving business applications and data.
- Support the administration of SAP Concur and other assigned business applications.
Testing and Reporting
- Support functional testing of software releases, enhancements, integrations and configuration changes.
- Develop test scenarios, document results and help identify and resolve issues before implementation.
- Support the development, validation and deployment of custom reports.
- Contribute to system implementations, upgrades and other projects involving business applications and data.
Qualifications
- A university or college degree in business administration, finance, accounting, information systems or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 2+ years of experience working with business systems, business applications, master data or ERP-enabled business processes.
- Experience with an ERP application. Experience with Yardi is an asset.
- Working knowledge of financial and accounting processes, including general ledger structures, accounts payable, accounts receivable and period-end activities.
- Commercial real estate experience and knowledge of commercial lease terminology are assets.
- Strong understanding of data integrity and the importance of accurate and complete business information.
- Ability to learn complex systems, investigate issues and translate business needs into clear system or data requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines without compromising accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment and accountability for the quality of your work.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in French is an asset.

$60,000 - $85,000 a year
Allied determines individual compensation by work location and other factors, including relevant experience, education and internal equity.
