Our Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with a strong background in construction engineering within the infrastructure sector to join our team in either our Saskatoon or Regina office. Our work combines technical excellence with innovative problem-solving to deliver meaningful projects that make a lasting impact on the communities we serve. In this role, you’ll collaborate with contractors, clients, and a talented team of professionals to bring a diverse range of projects from concept through to completion. You’ll be part of a supportive, collaborative team of engineers, EITs, designers, and project managers who value fresh ideas, open communication, and working together to achieve great results.
A Day in the Life
- Lead the structural design of industrial, commercial, construction engineering, and infrastructure projects using industry-standard design software.
- Perform structural analysis and calculations to ensure compliance with applicable building codes, seismic requirements, and sustainability standards.
- Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and reports, ensuring accuracy, quality, and clarity.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and integrate effective structural solutions.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure work aligns with design specifications and safety requirements.
- Develop practical, innovative engineering solutions that balance safety, cost-effectiveness, functionality, and aesthetics.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, supporting ongoing projects while identifying opportunities to develop new clients and projects for Allnorth.
- Work closely with project managers, team members, contractors, and other stakeholders to establish clear project requirements, deliverables, and expectations.
- Manage project deliverables to meet established schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Proactively identify and resolve technical, scope, performance, and scheduling challenges in collaboration with project managers.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to structural team members, supporting their professional development and the overall success of the team.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
- A bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in Saskatchewan.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in construction engineering and infrastructure design, ideally within an engineering consulting environment.
- Resource bridge experience is considered an asset.
- Recent experience working with the Ministry of Transportation and Transit.
- Experience in finite element analysis of structures, dynamic analysis, and a solid understanding of seismic design principles.
- Knowledge of and experience applying national and provincial design codes, standards, and regulations.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to mentor and support the professional development of team members.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple projects effectively.
