IAM Coordinator (Information Asset Management)
Location: Remote (Canada) | Preference for candidates able to attend a local Ottawa office occasionally (approximately one day per week, where feasible)
Pay Rate: $50-55 (T4); $60–70/hour Incorporated
Security Clearance: Must have or be eligible to obtain Enhanced Reliability Clearance
Duration: Contract through March 31, 2027 (37.5 hours/week)

About the Opportunity
A national organization is seeking an experienced Information Asset Management (IAM) Coordinator to support information governance initiatives within one of its business divisions.
This is a senior, hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys executing rather than simply advising. You'll serve as the primary IAM resource for your division, leading day-to-day information management activities while working closely with business stakeholders and the enterprise IAM team to ensure information assets are governed throughout their lifecycle.
You'll help strengthen information governance practices by supporting records management, Microsoft 365 information governance initiatives, compliance activities, audit readiness, and continuous process improvement.

Your Responsibilities
- Act as the primary Information Asset Management (IAM) resource for an assigned business division.
- Coordinate the full information asset lifecycle, including classification, metadata management, retention, disposition, digitization, and records remediation.
- Ensure compliance with IAM policies, standards, governance requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Support Microsoft 365 information governance initiatives, including records management and information lifecycle activities.
- Assist with audit readiness, compliance reporting, investigations, eDiscovery, litigation searches, and access to information requests.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), user guides, governance documentation, and training materials.
- Deliver user education, coaching, and change management activities to promote effective information management practices.
- Partner with business units to improve information governance processes and optimize workflows.
- Monitor compliance with records management requirements and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Participate in divisional IAM planning activities and enterprise IAM Communities of Practice.
- Act as the liaison between business stakeholders and the Enterprise Information Asset Management team.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of experience in Information Asset Management (IAM), Records and Information Management (RIM), Information Governance, or Records Management.
- Demonstrated experience managing the information asset lifecycle, including classification, retention, disposition, metadata management, and records remediation.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 Information Governance, including SharePoint Online, Microsoft Purview, retention labels, retention policies, or related technologies.
- Strong understanding of information governance principles, records management standards, and compliance best practices.
- Experience supporting audits, investigations, eDiscovery, litigation support, or access to information requests.
- Experience developing SOPs, governance documentation, procedures, and end-user training materials.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work independently across business and technical teams.
- Demonstrated experience driving process improvements and user adoption initiatives.
- Experience working within large, complex organizations is considered an asset.
- Public sector or broader public sector experience is considered an asset.
- Must have or be eligible to obtain Enhanced Reliability Clearance.
