About the Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career construction or engineering professional to build hands-on experience supporting a major civil infrastructure project. Youâll be embedded with the field team, contributing to a diverse scope of work that includes track and enabling work, bridges, noise walls, parking lots, culverts, earthworks and other civil infrastructure.
Working alongside project leaders, subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel, youâll play an important role in keeping daily construction activities organized, documented and moving forward. This permanent position is ideal for someone who takes initiative, communicates confidently and enjoys the pace and variety of an active construction site.

Your Responsibilities
- Youâll coordinate day-to-day site activities, working with subcontractors, suppliers, supervisors and project stakeholders.
- Youâll prepare daily reports covering labour, equipment, progress and site photographs, while maintaining accurate project documentation.
- Youâll support subcontractor onboarding, safety documentation, orientations, site meetings, mobilization and progress tracking.
- Youâll track extra work, time and material documentation, timecards, permits and information required for schedule updates.
- Youâll review drawings, specifications and project requirements and assist with preparing work plans.
- Youâll coordinate utility and rail locates, materials, equipment and other requirements supporting field execution.
- Youâll help identify and resolve site issues while supporting the Project Manager and broader project team.
Skills and Qualifications
- Previous construction, co-op, field coordination or Project Coordinator experience in civil construction or infrastructure is preferred.
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Architecture or a related discipline.
- Experience with transit, rail, heavy civil, roads, bridges or earthworks is an asset, with previous Metrolinx experience considered a strong asset.
- Valid Ontario G driverâs licence.
- Strong written and verbal English communication, organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to work approximately 50 hours per week, typically 7:00 a.m.â5:00 p.m., with changing schedules and regular night work during certain project phases.
