Role Description The Bilingual Pharmacy Technician is a full-time, hybrid role based in Montreal, QC, with some flexibility for work from home. In this role, the technician supports pharmacy operations by processing prescriptions, preparing and packaging medications, and ensuring accuracy in labeling and documentation. Daily tasks include verifying prescription information, maintaining inventory records, and coordinating with pharmacists to address clinical or dosing questions. The technician interacts with patients, healthcare providers, and internal teams in both English and French, providing clear information about medications, refills, and policies. The role also involves upholding regulatory and safety standards, assisting with quality checks, and supporting administrative tasks such as data entry, documentation, and record management.
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate fluently in both English and French, with strong listening, speaking, and writing skills.
- Experience in prescription processing, medication preparation, and accurate labeling within a pharmacy or pharmaceutical setting.
- Knowledge of pharmacy regulations, billing procedures, and safe handling and storage of medications.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management systems, data entry, and basic office software (e.g., MS Office).
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer service skills with a patient-focused approach and the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Completion of a recognized Pharmacy Technician training program; provincial certification or licensure in Quebec is an asset.
- Previous experience in a retail, hospital, or specialty pharmacy environment is preferred; experience with generic or niche pharmaceuticals is an advantage.
