Mechanical Estimator
Reporting to the Mechanical Department Manager, the Mechanical Estimator is responsible for identifying and managing tender opportunities and preparing competitive bids and proposals for commercial, industrial, and high-rise residential projects throughout Ontario. This role oversees estimating and pricing for bid and specification projects, design-build projects, and project budgets.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Identify and pursue new tendering opportunities.
- Review proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents to determine labour, material, equipment, and time requirements.
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and pricing.
- Complete detailed quantity take-offs.
- Coordinate and manage tender closings and ensure submissions are accurate and complete.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date estimating and cost information within the CRM and cost database.
- Investigate special projects and obtain and evaluate quotations as required.
- Attend site visits and meetings to support estimating and project requirements.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, co-workers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support Company objectives.
Working Conditions
- Some travel may be required to attend site visits and conduct on-site investigations.
- Ability to attend and, where required, lead presentations and meetings.
