We are currently recruiting for two January Co-op opportunities: Station Coordinator (Co-op) and Guideway Coordinator (Co-op). The following job summary applies to both positions, with the successful candidate supporting either the Station or Guideway team.
The Construction (Station or Guideway) Coordinator Co-op will support the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract (“EGS”) of The Ontario Line ("OL"). The Primary Construction Team for this project consists of ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada Inc. (ACCIONA) and Amico Major Projects Inc. (Amico), as Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP).
The Construction Coordinator (Co-op) provides technical assistance to the Station or Guideway team accordingly, and will include exposure to day-to-day management of project construction, scheduling, resource allocation, cost control, and review of design drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Maintain structured organization of all project drawings, specifications, reports, and technical documentation to ensure efficient access and use by project coordinators, managers, and field staff.
- Document tracking and coordination of all required documentation from subcontractors.
- Coordinate closely with Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental, and Permits teams to support seamless execution of construction activities and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare, review, and refine scopes of work to ensure project requirements, constraints, and site-specific challenges, particularly those unique to the Gerrard Station areas, are accurately captured.
- Assist Station or Guideway Coordinators, Managers, and Superintendents with day-to-day tasks as required.
- Review and analyze construction drawings and technical specifications to support constructability reviews and assist with field coordination and decision-making.
- Conduct regular site visits to coordinate with field staff and gain practical understanding of ongoing construction activities.
- Prepare presentations for meetings, take meeting notes and minutes of meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current enrollment with an accredited post-secondary institution for Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technologist, Construction Management, or equivalent.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suit (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
- A positive attitude and collaborative spirit, with a focus on achieving project goals and willing to do what it takes to get the job done right.
- Beginner knowledge of construction equipment, drawings, building materials, and relevant local regulations and standards.
- A commitment to safety, environment and quality, with a strong attention to detail.
- Experience in the construction industry is a strong asset.
- Beginner knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Bluebeam is an asset.
