AmpsPump is developing a Canadian-designed EV charging platform that combines modular infrastructure, battery energy storage, edge AI and intelligent energy management. Our architecture is designed to deliver reliable high-power charging while managing grid constraints and improving station economics.
With Canadian manufacturing planned, AmpsPump is preparing to commercialize a repeatable, containerized station model for retail locations, fleet operations and high-demand travel corridors. We are building the team to take this platform from initial deployment to broader expansion in North America, Europe and beyond.
Role Description
AmpsPump is seeking a Chief Financial Officer for a full-time role based in Toronto, Ontario, with flexibility for hybrid working arrangements.
The CFO will partner with the Chairman and executive team to lead financial strategy, support capital raising and establish the financial infrastructure required for growth. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone comfortable building a finance function in an early-stage business with significant infrastructure and technology ambitions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and cash management, with close attention to liquidity, deployment milestones and capital requirements.
- Lead the financial aspects of equity fundraising, including financial models, investor materials, due diligence and investor reporting.
- Develop corporate and site-level financing structures, including equipment financing, project debt and other sources of capital.
- Evaluate station economics, capital expenditure, pricing, partnerships and expansion opportunities.
- Identify and coordinate applications for relevant grants, incentives and other funding programs.
- Establish financial reporting, internal controls, accounting policies and tax compliance across the corporate group.
- Select and implement financial systems, and build the finance team as the business grows.
- Manage relationships with investors, lenders, auditors, tax advisers and other external stakeholders.
- Support board reporting and strategic decisions with clear financial analysis.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated senior finance leadership experience in a growing business, including experience building financial systems, processes and teams.
- A track record of supporting or leading equity fundraising and securing debt or equipment financing.
- Strong financial modelling skills, including cash flow forecasting, investment analysis and scenario planning.
- Experience with infrastructure deployment, capital-intensive projects or businesses combining hardware and recurring revenue.
- Strong command of financial reporting, consolidation, internal controls and Canadian tax and accounting requirements.
- Commercial judgment and the ability to translate complex financial information into clear recommendations.
- Willingness to work directly on detailed financial and operational matters while providing strategic leadership.
- Experience in energy, EV charging, infrastructure, manufacturing or technology is an asset.
- Experience in franchising is an asset.
- Experience with cross-border operations, government funding programs or public-company reporting is an asset.
- CPA designation preferred.
