Job Description
The Multi-Site Facilities & Catering Services Attendant provides flexible operational support across five downtown Calgary locations. This position assists with facilities porter responsibilities, catering services, reception coverage, mailroom support, and other workplace services based on business requirements.
The successful candidate will initially work full-time at one downtown office location for approximately three to six months, providing facilities porter coverage while a permanent position is being filled. Following this initial assignment, the role will transition into a multi-site support position, providing coverage for vacations, sick calls, staffing vacancies, special events, increased business volumes, and other operational needs.
Assignments and daily responsibilities will vary by location. The individual must be comfortable working in different office environments, adapting to changing priorities, and moving between downtown locations as required.
Job Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Facilities, Catering & Office Support
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked common areas, kitchens, meeting rooms, and employee spaces.
- Clean and sanitize surfaces, manage dishwashing, monitor inventory levels, and ensure coffee stations and kitchen equipment are maintained.
- Conduct routine inspections, report building maintenance concerns, and support overall workplace presentation.
- Coordinate catering services, including order management, food and beverage setup, vendor communication, inventory control, and event support.
- Monitor and respond to catering requests through designated systems and ensure catering areas remain clean and service-ready.
Reception, Mailroom & Workplace Services
- Provide reception coverage as needed and support daily office operations.
- Receive, distribute, and coordinate mail, packages, courier services, and workplace supplies.
- Assist with office moves, workstation setups, onboarding preparations, and office turnover activities.
- Maintain and update workplace procedures and operational documentation.
Multi-Site Support
- Provide workplace services coverage across multiple downtown Calgary locations.
- Support facilities, catering, reception, mailroom, and workplace services functions based on operational needs.
- Adapt to varying site requirements while maintaining consistent service standards and communicating effectively with site leadership regarding priorities, supplies, and operational concerns.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Previous experience in facilities services, catering, hospitality, food service, office services, or a similar customer-facing role is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills and a positive, professional attitude.
- Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, and adapt to different work environments.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including email, data entry, and online ordering or catering systems.
- Understanding of basic food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety practices.
- Ability to provide clear direction to vendors and coordinate daily service requirements.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including occasional early mornings or evenings based on operational needs.
- Ability to travel between downtown Calgary locations during or between scheduled shifts.
- Certification to serve alcohol is considered an asset.
Physical Requirements
This role may involve lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, and extended periods of walking or standing. The position may also require uniforms and the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
