About the role:
The Digital Media Specialist plays a crucial role in translating client objectives into effective digital campaigns. Working in close partnership with a Media Director and extended media team, this position is responsible for the end-to-end management of digital campaigns, from tactical planning and in-platform execution to real-time optimization and performance analysis. Success in this role requires a blend of analytical rigor, platform expertise, and a proactive approach to driving campaign efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive digital media strategies that align with client business objectives and budgets.
- Contribute to channel selection, audience targeting strategy (including 1st-party data implementation), and budget allocation across the digital ecosystem (e.g., SEM, Paid Social, Programmatic).
- Develop detailed media flowcharts and pacing documentation prior to campaign launch.
- Hands-on setup, launch, and quality assurance (QA) of digital media campaigns directly within platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager) or through coordination with external vendors.
- Support Digital Media Strategists in the execution of their digital media campaigns & QA.
- Manage campaign budgets, ensuring daily and weekly pacing remains on track to prevent under- or over-delivery for assigned campaigns.
- Own and execute all in-platform optimizations (e.g., bid adjustments, placement exclusions, creative rotations) to maximize performance against core KPIs (CPA, ROAS, CPL), supported by the data analyst team and Media Director.
- You will serve as the technical expert for digital media, providing data and channel-specific insights to the Media Director. The level of direct client involvement (e.g., media plan presentation, presenting campaign performance, answering technical questions) will be determined collaboratively with the Media Director for each client or project at the onset.
- Support in the development of client presentations (digital).
- Prepare POV’s for internal and external use.
- Actively contribute to brainstorming and idea generation sessions.
- Maintain and strengthen vendor relationships.
- Monitor campaign performance daily, identifying fluctuations and surfacing preliminary insights to the Media Director.
- Collaborate with the Data Analyst to integrate platform data and build insightful performance reports that clearly explain campaign results and the "why" behind performance.
- Provide actionable recommendations for future campaign testing, budget shifts, and strategic pivots based on data analysis.
- Stay up to date with digital trends, training to grow your digital acumen across all channels.
- Develop the necessary creative requirements documentation and trafficking requirements for campaigns. Ensure you’re working in lock-step with the creative and accounts teams to ensure campaign success.
Qualifications:
- Ideally, 3+ year of experience in a marketing or media agency environment
- Experience and confidence with paid social, analytics, and execution is considered an asset
- Adaptable, quick learner, and able to work independently while utilizing team resources effectively
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable discussing data and results, with strong communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively
- Problem solver with a positive attitude. You’re not afraid to ask “Why?”
- Interest in all things digital: Social, Mobile, Video, Analytics.
- Excellent time management, project management, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Sheets, Doc, Slides)
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
