Ticket Sales & Operations Manager
Location: Scarborough, ON – Arrow Office, Scarborough Shooting Stars (SSS) Venue & Other Event Locations
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: $65,000 per year
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized, outgoing, and community-focused Ticket Sales & Operations Manager to support the growth and success of the Scarborough Shooting Stars.
This role will take the lead on ticket sales, game day operations, community events, camps, tryouts, and other revenue-generating initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with the Marketing Director and other internal teams to develop strategies that increase ticket sales, strengthen community engagement, enhance brand visibility, and create memorable fan experiences.
The ideal candidate is passionate about basketball, familiar with the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL), and comfortable working in a fast-paced sports and event environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage ticket sales initiatives, including season tickets, flex packs, group sales, and single-game tickets, with a focus on maximizing arena attendance.
- Develop and execute sales strategies, promotions, and community outreach initiatives to drive ticket revenue and fan growth.
- Manage game day operations and help ensure a seamless and engaging experience for fans, staff, partners, and guests.
- Plan, organize, budget, and execute basketball-related events, including camps, tryouts, community programs, and other revenue-generating initiatives.
- Develop and implement community event strategies that increase brand awareness and strengthen relationships with local audiences.
- Represent the Scarborough Shooting Stars at games, community events, promotional activities, and other public-facing opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, vendors, sponsors, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with the Marketing, Sales, and Sponsorship teams to align events and operational activities with organizational and revenue goals.
- Lead and support seasonal interns and grant-funded employees, providing direction and ensuring effective use of team resources.
- Support multiple areas of the organization as required, contributing to the overall success of team operations.
- Identify creative opportunities, partnerships, and initiatives that increase the Shooting Stars' visibility within the Scarborough and broader GTA community.
- Ensure event and operational activities are delivered in accordance with CEBL standards and organizational objectives.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in ticket sales, sales outreach, event operations, sports, entertainment, or a related field.
- Experience with community outreach, networking, relationship building, and direct sales.
- Comfortable with cold calling, prospecting, networking, and engaging with community members and organizations.
- Familiarity with the CEBL and a strong understanding of the Scarborough Shooting Stars and their fan base.
- Experience planning and executing community events, sporting events, or other public-facing programs.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience developing event budgets and managing resources effectively.
- Previous experience supervising interns, seasonal employees, or temporary staff is an asset.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Creative, proactive, and comfortable developing new ideas to increase team visibility and fan engagement.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and game days as required.
- Passion for basketball, sports, community engagement, and delivering excellent fan experiences.
