Position Overview
ARS Responds Canada is seeking an experienced Director, Marketing to lead the execution of the company’s national marketing priorities and strengthen the ARS brand across Canada.
As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Director will bring marketing, client, competitive and market insight to strategic discussions while holding primary accountability for translating organizational direction into effective marketing execution.
The Director will establish priorities, develop actionable marketing plans, define accountabilities, manage resources and budgets, and drive performance across internal team members, agencies and external partners. The Director is also expected to remain actively involved in key initiatives and contribute directly where their expertise can improve the quality, speed or effectiveness of delivery.
The Director oversees ARS’s marketing function, including brand implementation, digital marketing, content and communications, website and social media, regional and local-market marketing, business development enablement, market intelligence, performance measurement and industry events. The Director will also lead the Events team, ensuring conferences, trade shows, sponsorships, client functions and industry activities are aligned with ARS’s broader business priorities and deliver measurable value.
Working closely with Business Development, Operations and other areas of the organization, the Director will ensure ARS presents a consistent, professional and differentiated brand across markets and client touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute marketing, brand, client and competitive insights to Senior Management discussions and the development of ARS’s strategic priorities.
- Translate approved corporate, growth and brand priorities into clear annual and quarterly marketing plans, initiatives, accountabilities, budgets, timelines and measurable outcomes.
- Lead the execution of ARS’s national marketing strategy across national, regional and local markets.
- Establish clear priorities and performance expectations for Marketing and Events personnel, remain actively engaged in execution, and maintain the operating discipline required to deliver initiatives consistently, effectively and on schedule.
- Lead, coach and develop team members, establishing clear accountability, performance standards and professional-development priorities.
- Lead the implementation and ongoing development of the ARS brand, ensuring consistency in positioning, messaging, visual identity, marketing materials and client-facing communications.
- Develop and oversee marketing initiatives directed toward priority audiences, including property owners, property managers, insurers, brokers, adjusters, commercial organizations and strategic partners.
- Lead digital marketing activities, including website strategy and performance, SEO, digital advertising, social media, email marketing, online reputation, marketing automation and other digital channels.
- Develop national, regional and local-market marketing programs that support ARS locations, strategic markets, client-development priorities and geographic expansion.
- Coordinate timely marketing, communications, digital content and client outreach in response to major weather events, catastrophes and emerging market conditions in partnership with Operations and Business Development.
- Lead and contribute to the development of high-quality content and thought leadership, including presentations, case studies, newsletters, videos, social media, website content, industry articles and other corporate communications.
- Partner with Business Development to develop and refine presentations, proposals, RFP materials, case studies, campaigns and other tools that support strategic accounts, client engagement and commercial growth.
- Maintain clear alignment between Marketing and Business Development, with Marketing supporting positioning, communications, content, campaigns and enablement while Business Development maintains responsibility for client relationships and opportunity development.
- Lead the Events function and establish clear objectives, budgets and performance expectations for conferences, trade shows, sponsorships, client events and other industry activities.
- Develop productive relationships with industry associations, agencies, media, strategic partners, suppliers and other external stakeholders.
- Manage marketing budgets, agencies, vendors and external resources, ensuring expenditures are appropriately controlled, aligned with priorities and delivering measurable value.
- Establish marketing KPIs and reporting that provide management with visibility into execution, performance and return on investment, including campaign effectiveness, digital engagement, event performance, marketing-supported opportunities, brand awareness and contribution to business growth.
- Monitor competitors, client feedback, market activity, industry developments and emerging opportunities and provide relevant market intelligence to Senior Management.
- Partner with Human Resources and operational leadership, where appropriate, to support employer branding, recruitment marketing and the consistent presentation of ARS as an employer.
- Continuously assess and improve marketing processes, resources, technology and operating practices to strengthen execution, efficiency, visibility and accountability.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- 8+ years of progressive marketing experience, including meaningful experience leading marketing programs, teams and execution at a Director or senior-management level.
- Demonstrated experience translating organizational strategy and business priorities into actionable marketing plans and measurable initiatives.
- Proven experience leading marketing within a multi-location, B2B, service-based or national organization.
- Strong people-leadership experience with the demonstrated ability to establish priorities, balance hands-on contribution with effective delegation, coach team members, manage performance and hold individuals accountable for results.
- Strong understanding of brand management, digital marketing, communications, content development, social media, SEO, website management, reputation management and marketing technology.
- Experience working closely with Business Development or Sales teams to support strategic accounts, proposals, RFPs, presentations, campaigns, client engagement and commercial growth.
- Experience managing external agencies, consultants, vendors and strategic partners.
- Experience planning and overseeing trade shows, conferences, sponsorships and client events.
- Strong commercial and analytical capability, with the ability to use KPIs, market information, client insights, campaign results and digital analytics to evaluate effectiveness and make informed decisions.
- Strong project-management capability with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, teams and initiatives within a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent communication, writing, presentation, judgment and relationship-management skills.
- Experience with CRM platforms, marketing automation, website analytics, social media platforms, digital advertising and other marketing technologies.
- Experience within property restoration, insurance, commercial real estate, property management, construction, facilities management or another complex B2B service environment would be considered an asset.
- Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent professional education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Ability to travel throughout Canada as required.

The Director is also expected to remain actively involved in the work of the function, including stepping into key initiatives, developing or refining materials, supporting campaigns and solving execution challenges where direct involvement can improve quality, speed or outcomes. The role requires an effective balance between strategic thinking, hands-on contribution and disciplined leadership, with success measured by the Director’s ability to influence direction, personally contribute where it matters, lead the team effectively and deliver measurable marketing outcomes.
