Aurora is an open-source AI SRE. It connects to a company's monitoring, incident and cloud tools, finds the root cause of alerts and incidents, cuts alert noise, and proposes fixes. It is built by Arvo A.I., a VC-backed Montreal company that has raised over $1M, and is used by engineering teams running Kubernetes with Datadog, Grafana or PagerDuty. We have no sales or marketing teams today. You will be the first and most important growth hire.
We seek driven and relentless individuals who understand that outsized results come from extreme focus, discipline, and an obsession with excellence. We seek people who take ownership, learn fast, and operate at the highest standards without excuses. If you're looking for a high-intensity environment where your input has direct impact, we want to hear from you.
This is an engineering job pointed at growth. You own the inbound number: website visitors, then sign-ups, then booked calls with Directors of DevOps and SRE leads. You hit it by building, not by buying ads.
Responsibilities
- Ship PRs to Aurora and our website: landing pages, onboarding fixes, integrations that unblock sign-ups.
- Build the growth systems: lead lists from sign-ups and product usage, programmatic pages from Aurora's runbooks and outage analyses, our public AI SRE benchmark.
- Instrument the funnel end to end and report every week on visitors, sign-ups and calls booked.
- Talk to users. Follow up with people who sign up, find out what stopped them, and fix it in code.
- Be present, under your own name, where our users are: GitHub, r/sre, r/devops, Hacker News.
- Build scalable, repeatable growth processes and tools directly with the Founder & CEO.
- Constantly iterate on pitch, messaging, and positioning based on customer feedback.
- Track and report sales metrics, KPIs, and learnings regularly.
Qualifications
- You have shipped real code and you understand how production systems break: Kubernetes, logs, metrics, alerts, on-call. SREs only listen to people who speak their language, and that is you.
- Strong interest in startups, technology, and software.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly structured thinking and zero tolerance for mistakes.
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt, and execute with minimal guidance.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, juggle multiple tasks, and exceed goals.
- Fluency in English.
Desired Traits
- Takes personal responsibility for failure
- Desire to be great
- Incredibly strong work ethic and personal discipline
- Coachable and feedback-hungry
- Low ego, team-first attitude
- Willing to grind until the job is done, then do it better next time
Compensation
Total compensation from CAD $150,000, commensurate with experience and performance. Aggressive commission structure. Equity.
