You will start with day-to-day office work and, over time, take on more of the compliance and administrative functions that keep a defence and aerospace supplier in good standing. We will teach you the systems, but we need someone with the character to learn them properly and see the work through.
What You Will Do
- Assist with maintaining our quality system and documentation to ISO standards [ISO 9001 / AS9100], including controlled documents, records and audit preparation
- Maintain personnel files and compliance records, including training records, certifications and any security or Controlled Goods requirements
- Support payroll: collecting hours, preparing and checking payroll information, and keeping accurate records
- Handle general office administration, including reception, correspondence, filing and supplier and customer communications
- Support purchasing, shipping and receiving paperwork and order records as needed
- Keep records accurate, organized and ready for audits and customer inspections
- Treat all personnel, payroll and customer information as strictly confidential
- Learn the shop’s processes and help wherever the office needs you
What We Are Looking For
- A reliable person who takes ownership of the job. We want someone who cares whether the work is finished and done correctly, not someone watching the clock
- Careful, accurate and organized, with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable with confidential information and able to use good judgment with it
- Good written and spoken English, and good working skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Willingness to learn ISO requirements, personnel compliance and payroll from the ground up
- Able to work independently and also as part of a small team
- High school diploma or equivalent; a college diploma or certificate in business administration, office administration or a related field is an asset
- Experience in an office, administrative, payroll or quality role is an asset, especially in manufacturing or a regulated industry, but we will train the right person
- [Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and Controlled Goods Program eligibility, as required for defence work]
What We Offer
A stable, long-standing business, hands-on training, and the chance to grow into a broad and valuable role.
Compensation: $500 – $700 per week
