POSITION SCOPE:
The Housing Maintenance Lead is responsible for the coordination and delivery of housing
maintenance services to ensure community housing units are safe, functional, and well
maintained. The role oversees day-to-day maintenance activities, conducts inspections,
coordinates repairs and preventive maintenance, and responds to routine and emergency
maintenance issues. The position supports maintenance planning, budgeting, and
record-keeping, and works collaboratively with internal staff, contractors, and community
members while upholding the values and priorities of Atikameksheng Anishnawbek
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Diploma in Facilities Management, Mechanical Techniques, Construction Management,
or a related field is considered an asset
- Technical training in building maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or HVAC
systems (preferred)
- Diploma in Facilities Management, Mechanical Techniques, Construction Management,
or a related field (asset)
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in housing maintenance or a related field
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct regular inspections of housing units to identify maintenance needs and safety
- concerns
- Coordinate and carry out routine repairs and preventive maintenance on housing units
- and building systems
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution
- Coordinate contractors and external service providers for specialized maintenance work
- Assist with maintenance budget planning, cost estimates, and procurement of materials
- and services
- Monitor maintenance expenditures and maintain financial tracking tools
