Role Description This full-time, on-site Warehouse Associate role is based off-site on the Halifax peninsula. The Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving, unloading, and organizing incoming shipments of furniture, lighting, and accessories. Day-to-day tasks include checking and verifying deliveries, packing and preparing orders for customer pick-up or delivery, and safely moving items using warehouse equipment. The role also involves maintaining a clean, organized warehouse, assisting with inventory counts, and supporting the showroom and delivery teams as needed. This position requires consistent attention to detail, safe material handling, and collaboration with colleagues to ensure efficient operations and a positive customer experience.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Shipping & Receiving, including verifying, documenting, and organizing incoming and outgoing goods.
- Candidates should possess skills in Packing, ensuring items are protected, labeled correctly, and prepared for transport or storage.
- Candidates should possess skills in Unloading, including safe handling of furniture and accessories from trucks and containers.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving furniture and boxes throughout the workday.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and time management skills in a warehouse or retail environment.
- Comfort working as part of a team and communicating clearly with coworkers and supervisors.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or furniture handling setting is an asset; health and safety awareness is strongly preferred.
- Excellent command of English required
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
