Our clinic in Mississauga is looking for a Hearing Instrument Specialist or Audiologist. We know you have the technical skills and have no doubt there.
What you need to know: You will be working alongside an ENT at all times. The ENT will be there 3 to 4 days a week and those are the days you will be doing Hearing Tests for patients sent by the ENT. On other 1 or 2 days, you will be doing HA fittings and everything related to it including paperwork.
Support: You will be supported by an experienced Audiologist. However, she will not be at the clinic at all times and will be available as and when needed. This is in an independent role and is currently temporary with a very solid chance at becoming permanent by January 2027.
Must have:
- High level of empathy and care for your patients. It is not possible to explain yourself with this but if you know you have it, we will work together very well.
- You are comfortable talking about and making high ticket sales. Hearing Aids can be expensive and making it part of your conversation effortlessly is critical to bringing comfort to your patients. Showing your patients value in hearing aids completely offsets the price and if you understand this, we want to hear from you.
- Able to think on your feet and move quickly to be able to support the ENT
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Audiology, including knowledge of hearing disorders and rehabilitation principles.
- Proficiency in Hearing Tests and Audiometry, with the ability to perform and interpret standard diagnostic procedures.
- Experience working with clients on Speech and communication strategies related to hearing loss.
- Excellent Customer Service skills, with a focus on empathy, clear communication, and client-centered care.
- Certification or licensure as a Hearing Instrument Specialist (HIS) or CASLPO, in good standing with relevant provincial regulatory bodies.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate clinical records and follow established protocols.
- Comfort with basic clinic technologies and hearing aid software; willingness to learn new tools and systems.
Compensation: For the temporary position we are offering $1,000 per month plus 10% commission on sales of hearing aids made by you. This amount and compensation is subject to change if we decide to move to a permanent full time position with you.
Send an email with your resume to [email protected]. Within 1 business day we will have a short phone call. If we decide to proceed, we will meet in-person within 3-4 business days. We are looking for a start date by early October and it would help if you could put in the email your available start date along with your resume.
