Security Supervisor

Wage: $60,500 - $65,000

Role Profile
The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all security operations at a licensed cannabis cultivation and post-harvest facility during a period of active construction and expansion. This role ensures the protection of employees, contractors, visitors, cannabis inventory, equipment, intellectual property, and company assets while maintaining compliance with applicable cannabis regulations, health and safety standards, and corporate security requirements.
The Security Supervisor will coordinate security activities between facility operations, construction contractors, project managers, and regulatory authorities to ensure uninterrupted security coverage throughout the expansion of production and post-harvest capacity.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible to adhere to and maintain and promote a positive company culture
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the Canadian Cannabis Laws and Regulations
- Ensure compliance with Cannabis Act including applicable physical security measures set out in Part 4 of the Cannabis Regulations
- Run and analyze metrics to determine the health and effectiveness of security policies and procedures
- Assist with Head of Security in maintaining the organizational security plan which broadly outlines security information, mitigation measures, and operating procedures throughout Auxly Leamington facility
- Assist and ensure with Head of Security, that all Standard Operation Procedures involved in the security of the facility and employee safety are being always adhered to
- Assist with Head of Security to conduct audits of the security system in place, ensuring all requirements under the Cannabis Regulations Act are met, and security systems are fully operational
- Assist with Head of Security and ensure to develop security training and conduct sessions with required employees
- Investigate security issues involving loss, theft, and violation of company policy. Work to resolve the issues identified and develop processes preventing additional occurrences
- Assist in the reporting of all theft or loss detected at the Auxly facility, or externally with Auxly Leamington product
- Obtain and maintain a Health Canada Security Clearance during employment
- Assist and maintain with Head of Security all communication with monitoring systems
- Be familiar with and be able to control and maintain all monitoring systems and communications systems with Communications Company in contract
- Be able to train and build a security team with up to 5 members, and manage the teams schedule for 24/7 coverage of the facility.
- Scheduling of staff monthly and keeping schedule posting in a timely manner.
- Other duties that the company may assign from time to time
Requirements:
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Postsecondary education in Security Management, Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of security experience.
- Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Experience in regulated industries preferred, including:
- Cannabis
- Pharmaceutical
- Food production
- Manufacturing
*Previous construction site security experience considered a strong asset.
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of physical security systems and surveillance technologies.
- Strong knowledge of access control programs and visitor management systems.
- Experience conducting investigations and preparing incident reports.
- Ability to interpret security regulations and company policies.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong organizational and documentation abilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to patrol indoor and outdoor areas for extended periods.
- Ability to climb stairs and navigate construction zones safely.
- Ability to lift 25 kg (55 lbs.) occasionally.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency callouts as required.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions.
