Job Summary:
The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing custodial and sanitation operations across manufacturing, warehouse, office, and common areas to ensure a safe, clean, and compliant facility. This role leads daily cleaning activities, staff training, inspections, inventory management, and contractor coordination while promoting operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for custodial issues during assigned shifts.
- Custodial and sanitation duties associated with the facility
- Schedule daily cleaning activities across manufacturing, warehouse, office, and common areas.
- Schedule deep-cleaning projects, and coordinate any shutdown requirements
- Develop and Maintain Work Instructions and Standards for sanitation, housekeeping, and safety.
- Ensure Training and Compliance with Facilities Standards and Work Instructions
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, inspections, and inventory usage.
- Support regulatory compliance related to chemical handling, waste management, and facility cleanliness.
- Operate and maintain advanced cleaning equipment and machinery.
- Onboarding and Training custodial staff on cleaning procedures, safety standards, and equipment operation.
- Inspect facility cleanliness and conduct quality audits.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, chemicals, PPE, and consumables.
- Assist in contractor coordination for specialized cleaning and waste disposal
- Support JHS in emergency response activities such as spill containment and cleanup.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience supervising facilities, maintenance or custodial operations, or a combination of
leadership experience and custodial work experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of building maintenance, custodial operations, and workplace Health and Safety.
- Experience implementing CMMS software systems an asset
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office and maintenance management software
Other Requirements:
- Knowledge and an understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials and equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, climb, and work in industrial environments for extended periods.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and noise levels in a manufacturing environment.
- Valid Driver’s License preferred.
