Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Manager, Payroll to lead end-to-end Canadian payroll operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize payroll processes. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in UKG Pro Payroll and UKG Workforce Management (WFM), along with proven payroll leadership and UKG implementation experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payments.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the payroll team.
- Oversee payroll reconciliations, statutory remittances, audits, and year-end reporting, including T4s and RL-1s.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian federal and provincial payroll legislation and collective agreements.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize UKG Pro Payroll and WFM, including integrations, reporting, and system controls.
- Lead UKG implementations, upgrades, testing/UAT, data validation, and post-go-live support.
- Drive payroll automation, process improvements, data integrity, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, IT, and external vendors to resolve issues and enhance payroll operations.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of Canadian payroll experience, including 5+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation required.
- Extensive hands-on experience with UKG Pro Payroll and UKG Workforce Management (WFM).
- Proven leadership experience in an end-to-end UKG implementation.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, taxation, statutory deductions, and year-end processes.
- Experience with multi-province, federally regulated, or unionized payroll environments is preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and complex reconciliations.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
