Role Description: The Catering Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Coquitlam, BC, responsible for driving catering revenue and delivering memorable guest experiences. This position manages the full sales cycle for catering and events, including prospecting, qualifying leads, preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, and closing business with corporate, social, and group clients. The role oversees event planning with clients, coordinates menus and service needs with the Food & Beverage and culinary teams, and ensures smooth execution on event days. The Catering Sales Manager maintains strong client relationships through proactive communication, site inspections, and post-event follow-up, thereby supporting repeat business and referrals. Daily tasks also include maintaining accurate records in sales systems, preparing forecasts and reports, and collaborating with the hotel’s sales and operations teams to achieve revenue and service targets.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to drive Catering Sales and build lasting client relationships.
- Proficiency in event planning, including coordinating logistics and collaborating cross-functionally with hotel departments.
- Strong focus on customer satisfaction and customer service, with a commitment to delivering high-quality guest experiences.
- Knowledge of Food & Beverage operations, menus, and service standards in a hotel or restaurant setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proven organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously.
- Experience in hotel catering sales, hospitality sales, or event management is highly beneficial.
- Comfortable using sales software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, based on event and client needs.
- Post-secondary education in hospitality management, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
