The Job Cost Analyst will collect and analyze financial information (e.g., inventory purchases, labor costs) related to the organization’s expenses, seeking ways to improve accuracy of budgets and forecasts, and to decrease the cost of assigned departments and projects. The analyst estimates production costs and tracks the changes in regular costs (e.g., due to new products and new processes).
The compensation for this role will be commensurate based on education and/or experience.
RESPONSIBILITES
What You'll Be Doing:
- Recommends and directs changes in operating and manufacturing procedures to improve efficiencies in processes. Suggests cost-reducing or profitable solutions.
- Gathers and analyzes financial data; offers analytical support for departmental projects.
- Coordinates with management to forecast and analyze costs of processes, labor, and inventory, Estimates product costs for existing and new products.
- Determines estimates and monitors standard costs and investigates variances with actual costs.
- Monitors changes in processes or methods to calculate effects on overall costs.
QUALIFICATIONS
What You'll Need For Success:
- Education: Degree in Finance, Accounting, business, or similar field; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
- 3-5 years’ experience as a cost analyst, cost specialist or similar role.
- Experience in data, operational and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of accounting processes and software. Solid understanding of information systems and MS Excel.
- Strong attention to details.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Aptitude to succeed in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Fully applies oneself to the requirements of the position
- Assist in month end close and reporting
- Assist in annual budgeting, variance analysis and other analytical work as needed.
