The role sits within RBC Capital Markets’ Payments Product Organization.
The organization supports Treasury, Cash, Control, Collateral Management, and payment capabilities across Capital Markets and enterprise business lines.
The position supports improved straight-through processing rates and enhanced controls for high-value payments.
What you will do
- Lead business process mapping, analysis, and redesign for automation, efficiency, and process improvement.
- Analyze current-state Capital Markets payment ecosystems for the payments modernization program.
- Collaborate with operations, legal, compliance, risk, and other cross-functional teams.
- Support operational readiness for product rollouts through training and internal support.
- Model, plan, and execute test cases.
- Develop and prioritize roadmaps.
- Design payment dashboards and end-to-end tracking tools.
- Provide thought leadership on technologies, competitive trends, and capital markets transformation.
- Manage cross-functional teams and secure stakeholder buy-in.
- Report project progress, milestones, and achievements.
- Maintain vendor and service-provider relationships while assessing technologies and industry trends.
What you will need to succeed
- 5+ years as a business or product analyst in financial institutions, particularly capital markets or payments and cash management.
- 3+ years of hands-on agile development in a product-owner role, including user stories and backlog refinement.
- Knowledge of ISO and MT/MX payment formats, SWIFT messaging, FX payments, and instant payments processing.
- Understanding of innovative technologies and current technology trends.
- CSM or CTP certification is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work with technical and non-technical resources.
- Ability to complete work with limited supervision.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with legal, compliance, and regulatory obligations related to payments and capital markets.
