Opportunity Overview
The role sits within RBC Capital Markets’ COO group and the Liquidity, Funding and Payment Services pillar.
The Payments Product Organization is focused on improving straight-through processing rates and controls for high-value payments.
The Product Team advances a transformation roadmap across people, processes, data, and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Map, analyze, and redesign business processes to identify inefficiencies, automation opportunities, and process improvements.
- Analyze Capital Markets payments ecosystems as part of the payments modernization program.
- Collaborate with operations, legal, compliance, risk, and technology teams.
- Support product rollout readiness through training and internal team support.
- Plan and execute test cases, develop roadmaps, and design payments dashboards and tracking tools.
- Manage cross-functional stakeholder engagement, project reporting, and vendor relationships.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of Business Analyst or Product Analyst experience in financial institutions, particularly Capital Markets or Payments/Cash Management.
- At least 3 years of hands-on agile development in a product owner role, including user stories and backlog refinement.
- Knowledge of ISO and MT/MX payment formats, SWIFT messaging, FX payments, and instant payments processing.
- Understanding of innovative technologies and current technology trends.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with technical and non-technical resources.
- Familiarity with legal and compliance obligations related to payments and Capital Markets.
Preferred Certification
- CSM or CTP certification is preferred but not required.
