Summary
The Pediatric Community Health Nurse delivers compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to children and adolescents in community-based clinic settings throughout Hillsborough County, with occasional travel to Pasco County. Working within BayCare's Mobile Medical Clinic program, this role provides preventive and acute care services, health education, and care coordination while partnering with families and community organizations to improve access to healthcare and support positive health outcomes. The Pediatric Nurse applies the nursing process and clinical standards, promotes clinical excellence, and demonstrates professional accountability through independent practice and collaboration with the healthcare team.
Your Role Within The Team
- Deliver preventive and acute nursing care services to pediatric patients in community-based clinic settings
- Utilize the nursing process and evidence-based practices to provide safe, high-quality patient care
- Educate patients and families on health promotion, disease prevention, and wellness strategies
- Build trusting relationships with children, adolescents, families, and community partners
- Coordinate care and connect families with appropriate healthcare and community resources
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support quality outcomes and continuity of care
- Travel between clinic locations throughout Hillsborough County and occasionally Pasco County
- Support community outreach events, including occasional evening and weekend programs
- Delegate appropriate patient care activities and serve as a clinical resource within the care team
- Perform Registered Nurse functions and other duties as assigned, as needed
Qualifications
Required
- Current RN License
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience
- Pediatric nursing experience
- Ability to work independently in a community-based setting
- Ability to travel between clinic locations
Preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Community health experience
- Pediatric outpatient or ambulatory care experience
