Production Scheduler
This crucial role creates and manages production schedules to meet demand while optimizing resource utilization. This position involves analyzing production capacity, forecasting demand, and coordinating with manufacturing teams to ensure timely delivery of products. Monitors inventory levels and adjusts plans as necessary to minimize disruptions.
In this role, you will develop, communicate, and facilitate a detailed site-level master production schedule for our Canola manufacturing sites, overseeing the growth, cleaning, treating, and packaging of commercial products. Your efforts will ensure the safe delivery of operational goals that align with our business objectives while fostering a culture built on trust and reliability.
This is a permanent, full-time position based out of Lethbridge, Alberta Bayer site.
What you will do:
- Identify and implement projects and initiatives that increase efficiencies and resolve detailed planning challenges to achieve customer delivery commitments and maintain inventory targets.
- Address complex planning problems independently, utilizing financial, operational, and business judgment while adapting to ambiguous conditions.
- Create and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules for all plant operations, brands, and exports to meet targets set by the North America planning team.
- Collaborate closely with export teams and state agencies to ensure timely production, inspection, permitting, and delivery of seed to export markets.
- Work with operational leaders to allocate the correct resources and supplies needed to execute the production schedule effectively.
- Proactively identify and address production and scheduling issues, maintaining run dates and other information in SAP and Seed Bin to ensure accurate MRP data.
- Provide feedback to planning, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams regarding supply disruptions, unexpected issues, and continuous improvements affecting capacity.
- Collaborate with site leadership, optimization teams, vendors, contractors, and IT/automation to develop and maintain a schedule that minimizes downtime.
- Conduct physical inventory counts of finished goods and raw materials at predetermined intervals to ensure data accuracy in SAP.
- Manage supplies inventory and ordering to ensure availability for scheduled production runs.
- Embrace and promote a safety-first culture at all times, supporting overall site key metrics, including safety, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Foster positive working relationships across the organization and work closely with partners to develop and maintain inventory plans.
- Perform data analysis on actual consumption rates compared to SAP rates to understand safety stocks and consumption patterns for material purchasing decisions.
- Ensure all activities/events are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, in accordance with Bayer Safety, compliance and Sustainability Policies.
Who you are:
- BS degree in related field required: BS degree in Business, Supply Chain or Agriculture preferred.
- 5+ years experience in manufacturing, supply chain, technology or related function
- Strong critical thinking skills to collaborate in building a vision for North America Commercial Canola Production.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

The base salary range for this role is between $89,520 and $134,280. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation. Additional benefits may include insured benefits such as health care, vision, dental, disability, and contributory retirement savings plans, etc.
